Here you will find some frequently asked questions about the DeVry Labs, and some common solutions to your computing problems.

When can I use the Lab?
Mon. - Thurs., 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM
Friday, 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Sunday, Closed You may use the labs anytime during those hours provided that a class does not occupy it. The only exception to this rule concerns the Network Labs. A faculty or I.T. staff member must be present in the Network Labs while students are working in these labs. -
May I save my work to the computers in the lab?
Students have assigned home directories on the academic servers, and or can save work to external media.floppy disks, ZIP disks, or CDRW's. Saving to the local hard drive is not recommended, as systems are formatted and reconfigured on an as needed basis. -
How do I login to the classroom or mobile A/V cart computers?
Your login for any computer in the classrooms, labs, the Academic Support Center (ASC) and the Library is the same. Please use your academic lab account and password. -
What is my academic lab account and password?
First letter of first name + first three letters of lastname + last four numbers of your DeVry Student ID (DSI). Example: Kelly Peters, D0012345 = kpet2345. The password will be set to the user's DSI, and the student will be prompted to change his/her password upon first login. -
What is my account and password for Linux?
Your account is the same, and so is your password, initially. However, if you change the password for one or the other, then you'll have the same account, but different passwords for Windows and Linux OS. You can have the password for either account reset by the Help Desk. -
How do I check-out lab equipment?
Approach the service window in the main Electronics Lab. Indicate which equipment you need to check-out. You will leave your student I.D. while you work with the equipment. When you are ready to leave the lab, return the equipment to the lab assistant at the service window and pick up your I.D. You may not take any of the equipment outside of the lab. -
